In fact, in this literary work, which is her first novel,Toni Morrison sheds lights on the societal forces that oppress and traumatize black individuals in general, and particularly black womenlike Pecola Breedlove. Thus, this article aims at delving deep into the novel in an attempt to offer a thorough analysis ofthe extent to which the white beauty standards have devastated the lives of African Americanswho have unfortunately internalized them due to huge social pressures.</p>2025-09-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025
